Organic stands for food produced according to the regulations of the <\/span>EU Organic Regulation<\/strong> <\/span>Specifically, this means: <\/p>\n

What does the Nutri-Score mean?<\/h4>

The Nutri-Score is a voluntary labeling system on the front of many foods. It assesses the nutritional quality from <\/span>A (very good) to E (less good)<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 based on sugar, salt, fat, protein, and fiber.<\/p>\n

We use the Nutri-Score so you can see at a glance how balanced our product is.<\/p>\n

What does \"Rescued Vegetables\" mean?<\/h4>

Rescued vegetables are fresh, perfectly good vegetables that would not end up in stores due to <\/span>shape, size, overproduction, or sidestreams<\/strong> <\/span>.<\/p>\n

Holiroots buys these vegetables directly from farmers (not for free, of course!) and thereby helps to:<\/p>\n

Are all Holiroots products made from rescued vegetables?<\/h4>

No, currently our products contain a mix of <\/span>rescued and regular organic vegetables<\/strong>. Why? Because we can never precisely plan <\/span>when & how many rescued vegetables<\/strong> <\/span>are available. As a startup, we still have <\/span>limited resources<\/strong> and our <\/span>supply chain is expanding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u27a1\ufe0f But: We rescue what we can \u2013 and are continuously working to rescue even more vegetables. \ud83c\udf31<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

How much rescued vegetables are in Holiroots crackers? <\/h4>

Currently, about <\/span>50%<\/strong> <\/span>of the vegetables we use are rescued vegetables.
And yes: We are actively working to further increase this proportion! \ud83d\udcaa<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Our vegetables come from <\/span>Belgium and other EU countries<\/strong>.
This keeps transport routes short and supports European farmers. \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddfa <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Where are Holiroots products manufactured? <\/h4>

Our crackers are produced in <\/span>Li\u00e8ge, Belgium<\/strong> \u2013 only about <\/span>20 minutes from Aachen<\/strong> <\/span>.

I see white spots on my cracker \u2013 is that normal? <\/h4>

Yes, absolutely!<\/strong>
The white spots are merely <\/span>flour residue<\/strong> that prevents the crackers from sticking together.<\/p>\n

We try to keep this to a minimum \u2013 but sometimes a little flour sneaks past our Holi eyes. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Are Holiroots products vegan? <\/h4>

Our crackers consist ofu 100% aus pflanzlichen Zutaten.<\/strong>
BUT:
We do not label them as vegan because they are produced in a facility that also processes products containing eggs, milk, or other animal ingredients.<\/p>\n

\u27a1\ufe0f <\/span>Therefore, traces may be present.<\/em> Transparency is important to us! \u2705<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

What's in Holi Crackers?<\/h4>

Our Holi Crackers are made from simple, honest ingredients \u2013 no frills. The most important part: fresh vegetables<\/g>, which we process directly, not just as powder or extract. Additionally, there's flour, selected spices, and depending on the variety, seeds like black sesame or sunflower seeds. <\/p>\n

All ingredients are organic-certified<\/strong>, purely plant-based<\/strong>, and naturally palm oil-free<\/strong>. We ensure that each variety has its own unique character \u2013 sometimes spicy, sometimes mild, sometimes earthy-sweet. <\/p>\n
